Accessibility Statement
I believe this website and Mattrbld as a whole should be available and accessible to everyone. As such, I strive for level AA conformance under the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, although no formal evaluation has taken place yet, and I am far from an expert in matters of accessibility.
Nonetheless, I have taken steps to ensure that all information is accessible at various levels of zoom as well as by navigating exclusively via the keyboard for abled and disabled people alike.
Animations will be disabled if the prefer-reduced-motion
preference is set. Nearly all scaling in the interface is based around the basic font size, so if you increase the font-size or zoom level of your browser, the interface will adapt nicely.
Known Limitations
Limited Text Contrast on Some Elements
The text colour for some elements, such as the CTA banners at the bottom of the page and the teaser cards for blog posts, is programmatically determined by the background colour. This should ensure enough contrast between foreground and background for readability. However, in some cases the algorithm may provide wrong results, leading to potential contrast issues.
Technical Language, Jargon
Mattrbld is a technical product, and large portions of this website go into great detail on how it works. As such, some amount of technical language and jargon cannot be completely avoided.
The Mattrbld Application
This website describes and documents an application called “Mattrbld”. At various points throughout the website, you will be able to open that application in a new browser tab or window. The application is separate from this website, and as such this accessibility statement does not cover the application.
The application is quite complex and consists of many custom user interface components, and as such may not be accessible to all people yet.
